monetization with buy me a coffee

Monetizing your blog or other websites was always not my favorite topic. I hate navigating through blogs that are advertising nearly every block or small area in the sidebar or page. Money is of course helpful to stay up to date with your blog, but it should not be your primary goal, at least it is not mine.

For me, blogging is some kind of a way how I can express my thoughts. If I find an audience that likes my posts I’m happy that I was able to help. But… don’t get me wrong I would also be happy if I can earn some bucks with my blog at least to pay webspace and maybe some other costs.

My monetization strategy

There are lots of options available on how you can earn money with your blog. There are even a lot of resources out there describing how to write articles, how to structure your blog, and what you should charge for banner space or advertising. You can:

  • Use Google AdWords
  • Sell banner places
  • Create paid posts
  • Advertise products and let people buy through affialiate links
  • Sell products
  • Add donation options
  • and… much… more

Some of these things will also come up in the future in this blog, but as I said I’m not a big fan of too much advertising so I will keep everything to a minimum. My main drivers for getting (hopefully) some bucks in the future are:

  • Buy me a coffee (kind of donation)
  • Sell useful products (I have no idea what and how, but will figure it out ;-))

First option for my monetization: Buy me a coffee

You might have already seen it in the sidebar or below each post that you have the option to “Support me with a coffee”. I really liked that idea and the service they offer. You can decide how much you would like to donate via Paypal or other options and I will receive the money to buy me a real coffee.

And all of us know… coffee is somehow important for anybody 😉 So if you like to support me, just donate some money and I’ll make sure that you will get some pictures of the coffee I bought from your donations. (After all web hosting bills are paid….)
